Bring colour into your life

Many people are afraid of bringing vivid coluors into their interior decorating. It is difficult to get out of one’s comfort zone, so the result is a boring, mostly beige environment. But, colours are stimulating and refreshing. To find out what colours you would really enjoy in your living room or a bedroom, without risking an entire wall of paint you might hate, start with small touches of colour. The best way to test your taste in colour is with canvas prints.

You can choose one larger canvas print or two, four or even eight smaller ones, grouped together for stronger impact. Larger prints work very well over a fireplace or a desk. We can make you rolled or stretched canvas prints of up to 72 inches high and wide.  Smaller groups of canvas prints of different sizes can be placed above a sofa or a side table. The smallest prints we make are 6 inches high and 6 inches wide.

Choosing the right photo for your canvas print for your home is mostly a matter of taste. We at The Canvas Print Studio have large selection of photos to choose from. There are wonderful whimsical underwater scenes from the National Geographic collection that your kids would love to see in their rooms. Floral macros are photos of flowers in their more artistic form that look impressionistic and would really enliven your living room or the bedroom. More graphic and masculine photos of architectural photos are more suitable for libraries or bachelor’s apartments. If your apartment is mostly monochromatic, choose one larger canvas print of vivid color, such as the Hubble Telescope Crab Nebula, or brain coral.  If you cannot find what you are looking for in our Gallery, or you are not sure what would work in your room, contact us and we will send you a suggestion through an email.

If you took some beautiful photos during your last vacation, pick your favorites and send them to us. We can turn them into veritable pieces of art you would be proud to see on your wall.

Think of making a collage of your family photos, by dividing one photo into four or even eight pieces and printing an enlarged version of each piece. Once they are stretched on the canvas, and hung on the wall close together, you have what looks like one very large photo and your wall looks like something you would see in a magazine. You can also group a number of photos printed on canvas, which are of similar color or theme. If you place them close together, they would look like one large picture, creating much stronger effect in the room.

Our graphic artists are very good at using Photoshop to play with different effects this software offers to make your photos, or any photos you choose, more artistic and unusual. No reason to stick to the boring old portraits
Keep in mind that we can enlarge your photos up to a point, which depends on the original resolution of the photo. Resolution (the number of dots or pixels the photo consists of) depends on the quality of your camera. Check the details about the right size of canvas prints for your photos in our Resolution guide.

What makes our canvas prints stand out from all the others in the market is very high resolution of our prints and the best quality canvas. Cheap canvas and poor resolution would make your print look, well, cheap. The Canvas Print Studio uses prints of 1440 by 1440 dpi resolution, which is twice the industry standard. In fact, our printers can actually print at 2880x2880 but because of the texture of the canvas, there is no difference in the quality of the print in the resolution this high. High quality Epson Stylus Pro printers transfer the photo onto standard poly-cotton blend canvas for superior results. You can also choose superior quality Breathing Color Chromata White Archival certified canvas, used by professional photographers and artists for their discerning clients. All prints are protected with two coats of the museum grade varnish. What you get as a result is a canvas print that would look impressive in any gallery and would certainly add a touch of class to your interior.

Our canvas prints come to you ready to be hung on the wall and they look fantastic as they are. But, if you like your pictures framed for added impact, choose a simple frame that matches the rest of your home design. Avoid ornate frames which would clash with the print. Let the print tell the whole story: the colors make any home more cheerful and livable.

Varnished canvas prints

Why do we varnish our canvas prints? I was quite shocked when reading suggestions that the companies that do varnish their canvases do it only to produce goods in bulk and because they store them for a long period of time there is a chance that they will get damaged and therefore the only reason to varnish is to prevent this from happening. This is truly unbelievable. Main reason for which this theory doesn't hold is that the canvas prints can not be produced in mass and bulk upfront - why? because we print customer's own photos and also usually it is just one copy of the image printed on canvas, not a mass amount of them.

It is interesting to see what kind of arguments our competitors would come up with just to hide the fact that varnish is an essential part of any canvas prints. Of course it adds protection against accidental damage and scratches that can happen during production, transport and also while they are hanged on your walls. I can't see any reason why this can be a bad?

But try reasons behind usage of canvas varnish are also:

- it protects canvas from UV therefore prolonging its life,

- it enriches the colours and adding more contrast,

- it acts as a moisture barrier - which allows to wipe it with a damp cloth if necessary,

- it produces professional look & finish desired by many customers.

So with this knowledge and the fact that we don't actually charge extra for using the varnish it makes it much easier to choose the printer of your canvas.
