WHAT'S IMPORTANT?

- type of canvas media used - we don't use cheap polyester which has plasticky look & feel but quality branded canvas media (more info below)

- original inks - many companies offer cheap prices by cutting costs using third party inks - they not only are inconsistent but also will fade much sooner than Original inks that will last 70 years +

- stretcher bars - again - we see that there is lots of companies offering budget bars - which will warp & distort easily - we use Premium European Pine bars with wooden wedges

- canvas varnish - consistently ignored by most companies - it is the only way to create a product which will last and not get damaged easily - we varnish all our canvases - at no extra cost !

- colour calibration - a vital part of the process - to make sure your images are reproduced best possible way.

- neatly finished on the back - all our canvasses are hand finished with backing tape/hangers at no extra cost.

PREMIUM CANVAS PRINTS

Our premium canvas option is Hahnemuhle Monet canvas. This media has got Archival Quality Certificate issued by Fine Art Trade Guild. Used together with Glamour II varnish (we varnish all our canvasses) provides highest level of lightfastness. It is used where need to exceptional colour gamut and print permanence is required. Typically we produce limited edition prints, giclee fine art reproductions, but also personal photos using this media. This canvas doesn't contain Optical Brigthening Additives (OBAs) which are present in our standard canvas.

STANDARD CANVAS PRINTS

For traditionally produced canvasses we only use branded canvas media from Breathing Color - they offer consistent quality and repeatable colour reproduction. They are manufactured in the USA and should not be confused with cheap polyester imports. For different applications we are offering two different types of canvas. The main difference between them is print permanance/archival properties. All our canvasses are varnished with museum grade Glamour II varnish. More on varnish in our canvas quality guide. Our standard media used for canvas printing still produces exceptional results - it offers very high white point which produces bright colours and very good contrast. It is far better option that traditional 100% cotton canvas for printing.

It is 405gsm Breathing Color polycotton blend canvas. It is mainly designed for home and office decoration, in application where exceptional longevity offered by Lyve is not required. Typically this canvas media will still last for decades although with time Optical Brightening Additives will very slowly deteriorate and white surface will become more creamy.

We can also adapt to your needs and print on any other types of canvas. Our in house calibration allows us to easily use any new substrate for printing. Please let us know if you have any other canvas media that you'd like us to use. To fulfil customer's needs we used Hahnemuhle canvas, Epson and Lyson canvas before with exceptional results.

STRETCHER BARS

- We can produce 'of the shelf' canvas prints from 8"x8" up to 40"x72",

- We offer a choice of 18mm or 38mm stretcher bars,

- Above 32" we also insert cross braces to support the frame, at no extra cost.

FREE CANVAS PROOFS

We are happy to offer proofs if you need to make sure the final product is exactly as you imagine. On all orders above 100 this is a free option (normally 8). We normally send two proofs, one which is showing a section of the image at 1:1 scale and another which shows the whole image. On larger canvasses we may decide it will be more beneficial to produce more proofs at 1:1 scale, to show different details of your image. Proofs are also varnished to show exact appearence of the final product (applies to canvas prints only)..

Rolled canvas prints come varnished, un-stretched, usually despatched in a tube, for self framing.
