The vast wall spaces of the upper West Stand concourses in the Amex Stadium are decorated by Brighton-based artist Bonny Cummins. Specialising in dramatic and colourful local architectural images, Bonny's works are presented as a gallery, and tell the story of the stadium's construction.
Included in the works created by Bonny, which span three seven metre walls displaying seven large works, is a fifteen foot panoramic canvas of Brighton and Hove. The paintings are viewed by thousands of people at weekly matches, and form part of the daily tours of the stadium.
Bonny contacted us as she wanted to use the best product possible to supply the club, and to reproduce her paintings for longevity in canvas of the highest quality. We supplied all the canvases to her in Breathing Chromata, known for its top of the range performance and quality.
Bonny says:
"I was thrilled with the end results. Rafal Sokol of The Canvas Print studio took my originals and colour matched them to perfection to create a valuable breathing print which is colour fast. I was able to hand-finish these prints in situ at the stadium and re-varnish them in the special varnish supplied to create original and unique works for the stadium."
Whilst Richard Hebberd, the Operations Manager for Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club BHAFCC ,commented, "Bonny Cummins' installation of paintings at the stadium far exceeded our expectations" (January 2012)
